I'll be back on Friday with a "Film Friday" and a nice little portfolio for those of you interested in the art of wildlife photography.
I've taken a few days days off and I need a couple more. Unfortunately my beloved dog Butters seems to be getting worse. He had me up all last night and the night before. The only bad thing about dogs (for dog lovers, but Yo! Present) is that they don't live long enough.
We should do a Baker's Dozen of dog photographs*. Have we ever done that before? I don't think so.
I'll be back on Friday.
Mike
*Photographs with the dog's nose out of focus would be automatically disqualified, except for just the one that had the dog's nose the most out of focus.

Mike,
My heart goes out to you and your faithful dog Butters as you face this difficult time for both of you. As I approach my 90th birthday later this year I can look back on a life filled with cats and dogs. Each one of them was the best of all, and their passing left a deep void. Ultimately I found that the best way to fill that void was to adopt a replacement. A new friend can shortly become irreplaceable.
My thoughts are prayers go out to you and Butters.
Paul

Hope Butters makes a comeback, however brief! Know I don't have to tell ya- best start steeling yourself now. It's tough...

I've often wondered how anyone could/would not love dogs. My half baked theory is that having a dog, particularly an indoors dog (the only kind really), requires living with an element of chaos.
And not everyone can do that. Cat lovers, for one! Control Frea... Enthusiasts for another.
Like most half baked theories, it needs a little more time in the oven.

Search for Rainbow Bridge in Google or ChatGPT. I found it years ago. It has helped me when I’ve had to made THE decision. I hope it helps you…..and Butters! 🙏

Over the last three years we have gone from having three wonderful dogs to now for the first time in forty years of marriage being without a dog. They were all sisters and we lost Ella to old age in 2023, Sophie in 2024 and Penny just this last month.
All I can say is, I feel your pain. I am hoping for the best for you and Butters!

Sorry to hear Butters is not doing well. Stay with him more during the times of his poor health.
Dogs are Man's best friends and they will love you whatever you do with them and until they die.
Recently, I penned and article for my daughters, "Is there such a thing as a Pet Heaven?". They like it.

I'm so sorry to hear about you and Butters. As it happens, yesterday (17th) was the 10th anniversary of the loss of my own dear dog, so I'm feeling your pain more than I might otherwise.

Dogs definitely don’t live long enough to - even our Mollie, who lived to 19 didn’t live anywhere near long enough…
We currently have two border collies - Bobby who’s nearly 5, and Willow, who’s just turned 1. I look at Bobby & wonder how he’s got that old that quickly… And he’s barely out of puppyhood, in my mind!
They are your best buds, with love unconditional…
