I have a job today! I mean a photo assignment for pay. First time since B.C. (Before COVID). I wonder how my allegiance to truth and reality will hold up in the face of pleasing the client.
I'm joking. I don't remember who it was who said recently that when you photograph for a client, you should be wholly committed to the client's needs and goals. I will take their advice.
In retrospect, I think it's a mistake I made a lot in the distant past when I was working professionally—even on jobs, I had my personal camera along with me just in case, and I was always looking for "my" sorts of shots, in my usual style. And sometimes I got them. But I'm leaving my monochrome camera at home today. I see the wisdom in being there completely for the client, without added distractions.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Mike
