Comments are all moderated as of 3:45 on Wednesday the 25th. Hosannas.

That was hard. I had a cascade of technical difficulties this week; to start with I apologize if you got locked out of the website or if it was very slow to respond. I also had a near-catastrophic loss of many comments (workflow issues, my fault, not TypePad's, but it would be intricate to explain). After a lot of work I've managed to rebuild all of the comments on the last six posts; all comments should now appear either inline or as Featured Comments. The only surviving glitch is that the Featured Comments on the last six posts appear in backwards order; usually they appear in the order in which they are written, but on these posts, the last comment you see is the one that came in first and so on. Apologies also for the delay in posting comments, or if you saw some Featured Comments under a post and came back later only to find they had disappeared. I could, I suppose, go in and re-order all the Featured Comments so they appear as they usually do, but it's taken two days of work already to get everything cleaned up, and I have had enough and am throwing in the towel.

Because of the same problem, it's possible that some comments were lost under earlier posts going back several weeks, so if you didn't see a comment appear that you remembered writing, I apologize for that, too. Just checking for that would take a lot more work.

Hopefully we're all back to normal now! I am sorry for the SNAFU. Whew.

P.S. This is only about the third time this has happened since I began blogging on TypePad in 2007. I would fire the comment guy and banish him from the premises, but then I don't know who would feed Butters.
