Bully Hill Vineyards is the buildings high up in the middle of the frame. This is the southern end of Keuka Lake, near Hammondsport, 16 or 18 miles down from where I live.
Just a random iPhone snap, in passing. (There are very few places where you get good views of the lake that I know about.)

Book o' the Week
Grit and Grace: Women at Work in the Emerging World. Unfortunately, this will be the posthumous swan song of the indefatigable documentarian Alison Wright, whose untimely death at 60 in the Azores this year meant she never got to see it published. Wright's photography was inextricably entwined with her life's dedication to social justice, a sense of acceptance of humanity, and a roving search for beauty and color.

Mani Sitaraman: "Mike, you'll be pleased to hear that I've been conveying, over the years and from over here in Asia, your positive impressions of Keuka Lake and environs to a couple of old friends on the East Coast. This latest, very pretty photograph is perfectly timed, as they've just set off to explore the area this weekend!"
Nice. Told ya it was a good camera. There's that old "fit-for-purpose" thang again. Funny how that works.

Lovely photo, Mike. Oddly enough, this week I've finally printed two similar views of Keuka Lake... they were from b/w 4x5 negatives forgotten for over a decade. In that line of work, the right day and the right light are paramount. And you had it, and captured it very well.
My rediscovered photos? One admirable, and one almost. So it goes...

Oh Walter Taylor's place. Coca Cola sued him to not use his name and boy did that backfire. What a guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bully_Hill_Vineyards
"During Prohibition, the winery sold grape juice in small wooden barrels. A label was placed on the barrel giving explicit instructions on how the juice would turn into wine if precautions weren't taken"
