I'm in the home stretch for my big piece for newyorker.com which will probably appear in July. Lots going on. We've been working on it for a couple of months now. I haven't time to attend to my regular duties today, so this week I'll write for TOP on the weekend. Sorry for the inconvenience!

If this keeps up, I'll have to subscribe to The New Yorker.

This one is long form, not an "opinion" piece? That's great.
[Well, it's a bit of an odd duck for the New Yorker. It's long for me, medium-long for the print magazine at least (I don't have a sense of the length averages for articles on the website). We've been working on it for a LONG time, and not quite done yet.
We're not to talk about the working process, but I think I can say this much: The New Yorker gets really good people, and they work very hard on the material they present. Very hard indeed. Very impressive, and extremely interesting to experience, for me at least. --Mike]
