Sorry about the recent downtime and the radio silence...I'm fine, not sick, but I must take a few end-of-August days off to concentrate on some life-planning, financial, and life-transition issues. This weekend* and most probably Monday too.
Back Tuesday (September 1st!) with tasty new topics.
Have a great weekend and see you soon!

*Strange concept. Who does such a thing?
...And who would want to? Sometimes I think it's harder not doing TOP than it is doing it. :-)
About half of all Israelis take the last week of August for vacation. I did too :-)

Mike,
I hope your downtime will be beneficial. We will be here when you return.

Like they say, fail to plan, plan to fail. Whatever failure looks like is different for different people. Doing what you enjoy never gets old and never feels like work. If you get paid something for it all the better. Not as profound as Proverbs but just as useful.

Is it really the end of August? Already? What a sad, lost year we’ve had.
Good luck with your personal administrative chores.

You should post more old posts when you can’t write something. There are many I haven’t read or would be happy to read again. I’m too lazy to go looking for them but if you pick out a “best of” you would satisfy most people without feeling the need to apologize.

Hi Mike,
You don't owe us an apology for taking a few days off, live life! We'll be here when you get back. I check in to see how you're doing from time to time, poke around in the posts, and go off on another tangent here or there. I don't have a mental list of expectations you should meet. I view this blog like visiting a friend. I enjoy your writing and hope for more, but I hope you're enjoying life too. That demands time away from the old routine. So for me at least, you certainly provide me more entertainment than I expect for a bargain price. Enjoy!
