Song for the day...Transvision Vamp's "Bad Valentine." It's got a sort of louche, low-fi slow-drag vibe I've always liked. Don't know the band or any of their other music—pretty sure I bought this as a vinyl single and never listened to the other side!

This one popped up on Jalopnik this morning. Fun animation.

I can’t talk for anyone’s music tastes but my own, but Transvision Vamp’s “Pop Art” album is easily one of my favourite albums. From the opening of its opening track, “from Easy Rider to Star Wars, from Che Guevara to Laurie Anderson, from light shows to videos, LSD to MTV...” I was hooked, lined and sunk. Born and bought with my adulthood, I love it like 6am daylight and a bowl of fruit loops in Tia Maria after an all-nighter IT shift. Get it in ya.

Their main single in Australia was Baby I Don’t Care (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r26krlXFmOI)
It was 89, I was mid teens, so it was a bit of fun. They probably had a few other songs that I don’t recall off the top of my head, but would recognise if I heard them.

I prefer Hey Hello's Black Valentine myself.

Transvision Vamp was a one hit wonder and this song wasn't it. "I want your love" was all over the radio for a couple of months. The last song on the album is also memorable and perhaps nsfw.
