Pete Souza, whom I've written about several times over the years, is the former Chief Official White House Photographer for U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, and the former director of the White House Photography Office. I've been meaning to mention his book about the last U.S. president, Barack Obama. It's called Obama: An Intimate Portrait. There's a Kindle edition. It was published by Little, Brown and Company.
Congratulations to Pete.

Featured Comments from:
Robin Dreyer: "The book is remarkable. Souza seems to have had nearly complete access to the President and his activities for the whole eight years (and he stuck with it). He's an excellent photographer and he has produced a carefully edited and sequenced, chronological journal of the Obama presidency. Not to be overlooked, however, are the captions, which are pithy and informative and move the reader through the book. It's a highly successful example of a certain kind of photo book."
Winfried Heyland: "The book is on the market quite a while and I believe it‘s just wonderful."
Tom K.: "I bought two copies immediately upon release. I kept one and gave the other to my father. Many of the images are filled with emotion. Moving pictures page after page. Especially the ones with President Obama and children.
"Also, the post processing of Souza's photographs are the gold standard. My favorite book of the year by far."
Don’t forget his new book “Shade” which are his counterpoint photographs to “the Donald’s” tweets since he took over the reins. They have been posted on his Instagram feed in response to those tweets and are now curated into the new book.
