Every now and then the comments get away from me. It takes constant work to keep up with 'em, and when I write too many posts too quickly it becomes more complicated to keep the comment section maintained properly. (It happens with email too—it just gets away from me sometimes.) I also notice that I've been working a bit slower as I get older. And it has become clear TOP that will never be able to afford an assistant, although I cannot complain. (My old joke was that my assistant is an abject slacker, but at least his boss is extremely lenient...both of them being me, of course.)
These past few days I've done a particularly wretched job of adding featured comments and posting the rest—possibly one of the two or three worst instances of this problem ever. Given that your comments are easily half the appeal of TOP, this is rather inexcusable. I'm sorry. Anyway, I'm all caught up now and will try to stay more "on the ball." Please do check back to the past six or eight posts for some excellent but only newly added reader comments.
