And it seems likely that after tonight's PowerBall drawing somebody will even be able to afford the latest and greatest!

You bought a camera company?

Asking "are you ready" when I don't know what's coming is a bit like someone asking you to promise you won't be mad before they tell you the bad news.

We have to quit meeting like this, Mike!

Mi dos pesos

OK Mike, I'll play... is it something that includes both the terms "full frame" and "Ricoh/Pentax"? And quite possibly, "Holy Grail"?

All I can say is that I hope those involved have improved the viewfinder cup for those of us who wear glasses. I found it not so great on the first incarnation, which made the camera difficult to work with for me.

Think Fuji will announce the X-ProM? A monochrome 24MP version of the X-Pro2?

Oh joy - will it never end?

Hmmm, Fuji XPRO2?

[Yep. --Mike]

More Fuji news, no doubt...

A new Canon M? Today?

Mike,
I am not particularly excited about any new camera coming to the market. All these years none of those big time engineers have managed to come up with one good sensible camera design. I have given up hope on that front. We are going to have some humdrum, high cost, heavy, mega megapixel, over sized main battle tanks with built in radar and GPS or UPS, which they will call cameras. Who is interested? Not me. Ranjit

What we really need from Fuji is a digital X-Pan. The lenses are already in place (yes, I have a complete X-Pan 2 system).

http://photorumors.com/ scroll down and you will see the 4 products. Click on each to see the google cache page with specs.
(the leak was from Fuji Australia and has since been removed. The cache was still live 5 minutes ago

How about a Fuji fixed lens digital medium format? They have a fine heritage there, with lenses already designed....I'd bite!

Ricoh just GAVE TOP the Pentax factory, all of its inventory and a new Pentax model.
It's now Mike's problem.

Reminds me of when I worked at Cisco. I wrote a program that would make a dialogue box pop up on my co-workers computer screens. It said "Are you sure?" and only had a "yes" button.

And next it seems the Olympus Pen F is coming too. Together with the GX8, it will make a very interesting trio of new cameras: Pen F, GX8, and PRO2.
