Gordon Lewis's Street Photography: The Art of Capturing the Candid Moment was ranked #1 on Amazon in the Digital Photography category this morning, a nice accomplishment. These rankings can change almost hourly, but suffice to say that the book's doing very well, hovering near the top of several categories.
I've just dipped into it so far. I was disappointed at the B&W reproduction—the color is much better—but the text is what makes the book. Gordon's highly informed, direct and succinct, unpretentious prose is what earned his blog "Shutterfinger" such a strong following over a relatively short period of time. His analyses are useful and thought-provoking.

Well, your opinion on disappointing B&W reproduction is not indicative of bad quality for most of us. I understand you have a privileged eye for B&W

I wonder, is it a Blurb printed book? I posted here a few months ago about the awful results I got when I printed a B&W photo book using Blurb. Very disappointing. After investigating I learned that their printer tech is just not any good for B&W.
