...No, not that kind of shot. But you gotta see this.
Back in '03, the great Buddy Hall, one of the early greats of the game of 9-ball, is playing Keith McCready, who played the part of Grady Seasons in the movie The Color of Money. Here's the situation:
Start the action at about 21:50 and watch Buddy get out of a tight spot. I could do that shot too...if I had about 20 consecutive tries to practice. Fun shot.

Really good players mostly keep themselves out of such circumstances, but they can do amazing things when they really have to.
[Actually really good players routinely find themselves in such circumstances, the result of the opponent playing a successful safety. --Mike]

Reminds me of Jay Meisel's comment after shooting into sunsets ad nauseum, "I turned around and realized the photo was behind me".
I wouldn't have thought to shoot "backwards" in a thousand tries.

Fab shot. I watched a bit more of that video and, for the first time, saw someone playing pool that I thought could be world class at snooker. He really had a beautiful cue action.
