An economic illustration of your last point. "real" fresh caught local grouper sells for almost $20 a pound at a local and reliably honest fish monger here in North Florida. Some of this insane price is from the scarcity created by fishing limits but those are obviously there for a reason. And of course the price increases have trickled down to even the once cheap farm raised fish.
