I bought it from "The Book Depository", if you need to know precisely how many of your readers bought it. I'm probably not alone because from Canada, it was a lot more convenient.

Its been almost a year, I'll advise when I get shipping confirmation...

And thank you once again for turning us on to this work. Wow!

Got mine today. Spent a very happy evening reading it. Worth the wait...!

Hey Mike,

I might be stating the obvious, but interested buyers should consider other language versions if they would eventually miss this batch again (French, Spanish, German).

During the first batch rage, I ordered a german version (French was also quickly gone). There are some texts indeed but I thought the photographs mattered more. The book is essentially identical (have held both). Now my first english order has finally been dispatched and I'm looking forward to rediscovering the book.

Greetings,
S.

Just received my copy, which I ordered in January. I bought it partly of what I read on your blog and I am not disappointed! Have not looked at all pages yet, but am absolutely loving it. The animal portraits are fabulous! And some of the cityscapes remind me of C.S. Lowry's paintings with 'stick men.'

In addition to the photography the book itself is a pleasure to hold and leaf through. The quality of the paper and printing also make it worth every penny. Thanks for the recommendation!

I had been trying to get this for a year. For better or worse three places shipped it before the first copy arrived, so it looks like I'll end up with extra copies. Only glanced at it so far, but it's even better than I expected.

Your Amazon.co.uk order of "Here, Far Away" has been dispatched.

Yay, christmas came early this year. The order was standing from the first edition.

Pentti looks like Michael Reichmann's twin brother ;-)

Got notice from Amazon UK that mine copy has been dispatched :-)

Mike -
I just received an e-mail from Amazon telling me that my order for "Here and Far Away" was canceled due to "lack of availability". I ordered the book in late June and just received the cancellation this morning. I have re-ordered with from The Book Depository link above. Has anyone else received the book from Amazon?

Hi Mike. I wanted to see if anyone else has had the experience with Amazon US I just had.

I ordered the Pentti book many months ago on Amazon US and I've been anticipating it's eventual arrival. I've been following along as you've updated us.

Today I got an email from Amazon that read:

"Due to a lack of availability, we will not be able to obtain the following item(s) from your order:

Sammallahti, Pentti "Here Far Away" "

Now I'm steamed at Amazon. I know from your posts that it's coming. I also know Amazon is still selling it. But if I order again I assume I'm going to the back of the line. VERY frustrating.

I'm going to call Amazon and complain, but wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if they managed to get it resolved.

Thanks! JD

Sigh. Amazon just canceled my long-placed, long-delayed order. So I ordered one from the UK...

My copy, ordered from Amazon UK 6th Jan arrived today (Australia). Long wait but the book and photos are beautiful.

I have also just been notified this morning that my Amazon US order was cancelled. Re-ordered from Book Depository and hoping to get it soon...

I just received my copy of hear far away. If I never gain another thing from reading this site, being made aware of this photographer and this book will be enough. WOW... just WOW!

Cheers, Bob
