Mike replies: You laugh but...Flying Toaster, filly, by Mehmet out of Renewable, born 1993. Great-granddaughter of the great Swaps, who won the '55 Derby under Willie Shoemaker. Descendant of Man O'War and War Admiral....
NBC Sports interrupted Qualifying at the Indy 500 for a stupid pre-horserace show. Definitely misplaced priorities.

Cable will likely kill your blog, especially if you like to waste time watching sports.

That's all very well and good, but have you noticed this PHENOMENAL development -please pardon the pun - in film or whatever to digital to archival silver prints?

Me? I tossed $500 into the pot, so can extract $900 worth of killer prints!
Best!

I hate to bring this up, but I have always wanted to go to a horse race to photograph the action, but my wife, the lifelong horse person, shames me into skipping it. The abuse these animals suffer is amazing! In most states a certain amount of drugging is allowed and the injury/mortality rate is high. Remember the TV series "Luck" about racing here in CA? I knew someome who worked on it and lost their job when it was cancelled after the public outrage over the horses lost in shooting the series.
See the NYTimes article: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/30/us/casino-cash-fuels-use-of-injured-horses-at-racetracks.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
BTW, I was amused by the scandal over eating horsemeat recently. Why is eating a horse unacceptable while running them to death is OK?

Why would you want cable tv when you can have satellite tv?
