I'm not really up on this stuff, I admit, but the way I hear it, Amazon had a super-low price on the Canon 4Ti and EF-S 18–55mm IS lens, but only for delivery after Christmas; and B&H Photo responded with an even lower price, has the kit in stock, and is including free overnight shipping.
There's also a very good price on the same camera with the 18–135mm lens.
Hottest deal on the Internet? Has the look of one of those mini-price wars to us. Might be something to look into if you are an especially generous stocking stuffer. Or have just been procrastinating. :-)

I think the hottest deal out right now is the Nikon 1 V1 with 10-30 kit lens and 30-110 telephoto (2.7x crop factor) for $399 at B&H.
From all appearances, this is an under-appreciated camera, mainly because it was overpriced. It's not great in low light. But it's got amazing AF speed (pro dslr quality), you can shoot stills and video at the same time, the lenses are super small, a nice EVF, and there's even a 18.5 f/1.8 for low(er) light or shallow(er) DOF. There's also a nice EVF, converter for larger Nikon lenses, blah blah blah.
Anyways, I'm going to bite on this. Seems like for sports and nature (and backpacking) it's a no-brainer. (And for us geeks, it scores better at DXOmark than the Panasonic GF5, a current micro four-thirds camera for more $$, as well as my trusty old D70, which took a lot of great pics.)

While some people complain when you write about these deals, I appreciate them. Keep them coming.
