...And speaking of Pentax, B&H is having a sale today of two of the more expensive Pentax lenses, the 16–50mm and 50–135mm, for ~60% off. Have a look....

Ted: "Oh boy, I'm in trouble. I just ordered both lenses: the 16–55, and the 50–135. I just blew my entire 2013 budget for photography gear, and the year hasn't even started yet. But you'll get a small cut, so I feel better about it. Can you offer any tips on how to justify this to my better half?"
Mike replies: I don't know your better half, but I'd act properly concerned about the amount you did spend while emphasizing (several times if you can) the amount you saved by buying them today and both at once. Good luck man, hope you make it through in one piece. [g]
The f2.8 Pentax digital zooms are good lenses, much smaller and much, much cheaper than the equivalent Nikon or Canon FF lenses. Clearly, Pentax was having trouble selling them after they doubled the price earlier in the year.
Pentax is unusual in having a full-suite of crop-lenses, both primes and zooms, not to mention compatibility back to the film era lenses.

Such a good deal, that I want to buy both, and I am not even a Pentax user!

And what about us poor Europeans? Oh well, the little known 17-70 f4.0 will do for lack of such a deal over here.
