Guilty as charged. :-)

My own exact reaction :-)

Perhaps he means that 50mm is the shortest focusing distance.

50/3.5 Zuiko for OM.

Superb at 1:2, quite good at 1:1

OM, now OM-D Moose

Sigh, I thought not but I wasn't sure.

> And every time I watch it...

Possibly another clue... :-)

I've got the old Canon FD 50mm f/3.5 macro, goes down to 1:1. The video reminded me of it, idly sitting in the closet.

Don't try to resist the reality distortion field.

If Apple says its a 50 mm macro lens then its a 50 mm macro lens!

Exactly what I thought. Sigh...

and it's not an iphone 5, and......

"I've got the old Canon FD 50mm f/3.5 macro, goes down to 1:1. The video reminded me of it, idly sitting in the closet."

You could take pictures of food with it. [g]

glad I'm not the only one.

You know you are a photo geek when ...

Not only did I think "hey, that's not a the fifty macro," I also continued with "wait, was that on purpose?"

*cough cough*

Superb macro lens. Clearly apple just got an all-black-edition (and an all-white-one too...)

Haha, that is *exactly* what I thought too. In fact, it is not even a good 50mm lens, IMO. Slow focusing, terrible boke quite often, etc. etc. I presume the L is better, if you can get a good copy, which apparently isn't easy. Personally, I prefer Nikon and Zeiss lenses, and have both the Planar and Makro-Planar 50s, as well as a Sigmalux and an old Contax 50/1.7 with Leitax mount. One day I will add the Leica 50/1.4 Summilux-R E60... but not for quite a while.

Possibly, iPhone 5 would come with slightly smaller than Full Frame sensor ;-) Anyhow, my favorite macro lens is Panasonic-Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm F2.8.

I think the lens in the video is this one--

I said the same damned thing. 8^)
