I've written two new music reviews, of John Lennon's Acoustic (a new iTunes compilation) and Sonny Clark Trio, also available from iTunes, over at our music review sister site, C60Crew. The Sonny Clark review grew out of my post yesterday about Max Roach. Bob Burnett also wrote an interesting post called "Albums I Spent Years Looking For...." Anybody happen to own the CD version of LaMonte Young's Well-Tuned Piano??

Mike, regarding Lennon's "Acoustic" review, I take exception to you placing John below Willie Nelson as a guitar player. It's true that Lennon was mostly a strummer, but there are exceptions like "Julia," which was a stunning fingerplayed arrangement. Lennon was capable of much more than strumming rhythms. Willie Nelson, on the other hand, is a truly horrendous, undisciplined guitar player, using a pick on a classical nylon-stringed Martin.

I once heard of a guy who was so undisciplined he played with his TEETH.

Ahhh, you're talking about a different animal here. That's genius! I hope you're not trying to compare Willie Nelson to Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix undisciplined? So what!

Well I also have spent many years looking for the Well Tuned Piano album. Make sure you get two if you are lucky!
