Stephen Shankland of C|NET has just published a detailed story about DxO Labs' imaging science. Unlike a lot of what you find on the web (including this post!), it's original reporting. He spent a lot of time with DxO imaging gurus in France and watched them put the 5D Mark III through its paces. One tidbit: DxO bucks the conventional wisdom that megapixel mania is marketing nonsense.
It's an excellent report, must reading for any photo enthusiast who is even moderately interested in digital technology, and certainly for anyone who visits DxOMark.
There's also a photo gallery of pictures Stephen took during his visit.
Here's Stephen's article about the relatively weak scores the Canon 5D Mark III just earned on DxOMark. (It indicates that the Mark III's improvements are mostly in the video realm, which aren't reflected in the DxO scores.)
(Thanks to Stephen)
