A Gentle Warning

Today is Sunday, a day many Christians observe as sacred to some degree (it is to be hoped, not so strictly that it prevents them from watching golf—the final round of the PGA is today, and Tiger's in the lead).

Accordingly, this intermediate page is inserted here as a courtesy. John Calvin and Scott Adams notwithstanding, most philosophers these days believe you have free will, so what you do from here is your own responsibility!

I'm a rationalist—a.k.a. freethinker, secularist, skeptic, atheist—and as such, I can't really be expected to write about things I don't believe as if I believe them, right? Today's off-topic essay makes fun of irrationality and supernatural creatures and beings. But that includes religious figures. It's intended to be humorous, not offensive; but only you know if such a viewpoint is likely to offend, agitate, or anger you, or bring up other negative feelings, and thus, you are the person best equipped to know if you will spend a more placid and contented Sunday if you keep clear of this. You are hereby urged to exercise your judgment on your own behalf—because, even above being amused, the author wishes you to be happy and contented, today and all other days.

Really, it's not that good, so if you're religious and you think it might make you unhappy, skip it.

I have been warned, and I'd still like to read whatever nonsense Mike has concocted for our amusement today.
